xone VS xpad

There is a way to make it work with this https://github.com/medusalix/xone There are tutorials in this subreddit. I’ve done it and it was noticeable better than Bluetooth IMHO.

For example, I have some old Xbox One controllers that don't have Bluetooth and an Xbox Wireless Adapter, I got them working with the xone driver.

What you need is to install the Xbox One driver. You can find it under xone.

Use Linux there you can install this: https://github.com/paroj/xpad works great, except that videos that you want to use as background have to be in webm or ogv and NOT mp4

I had to compile and install the latest xpad for 2.4 mode to work. https://github.com/paroj/xpad

However, xpad recently added support for the bluetooth version.

Now we're going to acquire the xpad files, and dkms to set it up. sudo pacman -S dkms && sudo git clone https://github.com/paroj/xpad.git /usr/src/xpad-0.4 && sudo dkms install -m xpad -v 0.4

That particular controller doesn't seem to be compatible with Linux, I found a note about it on the XPad driver (https://github.com/paroj/xpad/issues/232) showing that it doesn't work with XPad. Which means it likely also doesn't work with XPadNeo, which Batocera uses.

I installed AntiMicroX and there all my buttons work. I also use this for driver - https://github.com/paroj/xpad

Googling I found a solution where you install an updated xpad , that has the ID for this 8bitdo controller added for it to recognize correctly. I tried installing it but fails stating that this kernel module is already installed, my only option is force install over it, but I got scared of effing up the xone/xpadneo that's working fine with the normal xbox bluetooth controller.

I'm pretty good with tech but I'm still relatively new to Linux, I was unable to find out what kernel SteamOS is built on or where to go from here. On a side note I know (https://github.com/paroj/xpad) exist and has support for the back paddles but it only works wired. Using a 10ft wire to play games on my couch completely defeats the point, I'd rather just play my deck on the couch at that point. If someone can point me in the right direction or help me get this working it'd be greatly appreciated.
