ELDEN RING: Patch Notes 1.04
Or the excessive command buffer creation/deletion that has been fixed on Proton (for the Steam Deck but also benefits all other Linux systems) and an external DX12 fix (https://github.com/soupstream/EldenRingStutterFix, which unfortunately prevents EAC from running and thus disables multiplayer).

Reshade presets
Anyone else on PC trying out Reshade? My current favorite is Photorealistic Lands Between ReShade with Vivid Option and Optional Balanced Cinematic Effects. Here's some screenshots. I'm using EldenRingStutterFix too. Smooths out the vast majority of stutters so far. Giving a field of view mod a go as well.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 512.15 FAQ/Discussion
FYI, the fixes made by valve for the steam deck have been ported to Windows, though the person who ported those fixes says SpecialK should be used instead since it does the same thing.

If you're playing Elden Ring and have little to no stutter/freezing issues, could you share your GPU driver version and game profile please?
Try This and disable the anticheat if you're fine without online play. Fixed mine.

Valve Explains How It Fixed Elden Ring on Steam Deck
I'm hopeful they will fix this issue, but doubtful unless there is a massive petition with clear goals like fix performance with pointing to this valve fix, unlock frame rate, add ultrawide, give option to disable vignetting and chromatic aberration etc. I wonder if GPU driver release with added command allocator pool cache would be possible, because I saw another DX12 fix and it basically a simple cache.

I forked SteamOS for my living room PC
- KDE/wayland
> That said, these things work flawlessly on the Deck.
Likely due to running into these graphics driver -> WM and similar compatibility issues and fixing them. The other performance improvements from kernel changes probably don't hurt either.
