Cryengine-Converter VS DepotDownloader

Eventually I found unp4k (Github). This allows you to extract the big 'data.p4k' file. Then you have access to all the model files, though they're in .cgf and .cga formats (cryengine). Just opening these in cryengine wouldn't work. After some research I stumbled upon Cry Engine Converter (Github). This allows you to convert those files into usable files. This was huge for me.

Use unp4k Tools and than Cryengine-Converter.

Models are Cryengine .cgf and .skin files. You can use Markemp/Cryengine-Converter to convert them to Collada (.dae) files, and potentially KhronosGroup/COLLADA2GLTF to convert the Collada files to glTF files afterwards.

Hi everyone. Just want to put out some observations of some work I've done recently getting CIG's new #ivo file format able to be processed with my Cryengine Converter program, and how that should help with load times and performance.

To convert the object 3d assets from .cgf to something like .dae or .obj, you can use CryEngine Converter. For textures, I use the Star Citizen texture converter to convert the split .dds textures to .tif.

There's also DepotDownloader that lets you download anything, including past version, from Steam https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader

I use this to download historical versions of a game to help with reverse engineering to archive dialogue trees from a game https://dialogue.destiny.report

I'm not sure how you could just download the launcher. You want the Launcher.exe from this version. A quick google brought up this downloader: https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader

Continuing to add to the confusion on the topic by trying to argue that Steam is DRM because you have to buy the game through Steam is counter-productive. (And apparently Steam's client isn't the only browser available.)

Not by Steam means. I don't know if it's still functional (update on last year) but https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader is what you're looking for and you need to learn the DLCs depot number from SteamDB to feed that information into this program.

If you are looking for a specific version of the game and you own it on steam you could download it using something like DepotDownloader. An example of this would be downloading the first pubic version of the game
