Show HN: Contrapunk – Real-time counterpoint harmony from guitar input, in Rust
Nicely done! I saw you're building a cloud version so wanted to refer the excellent https://github.com/sonosaurus/sonobus which you might be able to integrate. All the best!

Free software scares normal people
> 4. The distribution of the software itself means anyone who successfully installs it themselves really is a power user and does like the options. Installing it for family and friends doesn't work.
i have seen many comments, by lay people, out of Sonobus [0] being superb on what it does and impressive by being 100% free. that's a niche case that if it was implemented on Ardour, could fit the same problem OP describes
[0] https://sonobus.net/
however i can't feel where the problem of FOSS scaring normal people. someone getting a .h264 and a .wav file out of a video-record isn't normal after all. there are plenty of converters on the web, i dunno if they run ffmpeg at their server but i wouldn't get surprised. the problem lies on the whole digital infrastructure running on FOSS without returning anything back. power-user software shouldn't simplify stuff. tech literacy hopefully can be a thing and by quickly learning how to import and export a file in a complex software feels better to install 5 different limited software over the years because your demands are growing

Show HN: AOO – real-time audio streaming and messaging
I think you could use https://sonobus.net/ for this purpose. It is based on AOO and has very nice and easy-to-use UI. You could run the SonoBus plugin in your DAW and your clients could use the standalone. Just like AOO, SonoBus supports both Opus and raw PCM. Opus at 128 kbps/channel is pretty much transparent. With PCM you might run into packet loss issues.
(AOO has an option for resending lost packets which can be used to create very stable PCM streams. However, I'm not sure if SonoBus actually supports this option...)
That being said, Listeto looks very neat and the pricing seems reasonable. Is there a particular reason why you want to move away?

Sounds like you could use https://sonobus.net/ and possibly https://vdo.ninja/ but you might have that already covered with jitsi.

[LFG] Looking for older amateur/beginners in Europe for stoner rock
Our collaboration software might look something like Sonobus and vdo.ninja for live jamming (if we're close enough), Discord or Whatsapp for chatting, maybe Area for reviewing mix-downs, and Bandlab for stem-sharing (Reaper too, if you've got it). I'm open to all suggestions. I'm also interested in learning how to use something like Sonic Sound Picture to do visualisations, or maybe creating AI generated animations, if deciding to upload anything to YT.

[Question] What are some good apps/websites for music collaboration?
If you're in a 2000km of each other and have good wired connections, Sonobus is absolutely amazing, especially in conjunction with video.ninja.
