Tell HN: Have just discovered that I can use any key as Ctrl on my kbd
I use caps2esc [1] to map the capslock button to ctrl on hold and esc on tap. It is such a simple yet insanely useful remapping!

Dual function keys in Void?
I've found this package, but it's not available on the repo, and compiling stuff on my own not knowing if this thing is even Wayland compatible is scary.

I was going to suggest https://gitlab.com/interception/linux/tools which is the basis for the following plugins:

Forward slash key not working ?
For a kernel-level solution look at something like interception-tools.
-
ctrl/esc for the "capslock" key
I've been using https://gitlab.com/interception/linux/plugins/caps2esc to make my "capslock" key work as Escape when pressed on its own and as Ctrl when pressed in combination with another key. I love this, and need my new keyboard to work this way.

I want caps lock to be my super key, but would like shift+caps to replace it
I used to use this: https://gitlab.com/interception/linux/plugins/caps2esc It's lower level, harder to setup, but it gives you access to everything, which based on how savvy you are could be a good/bad thing.

Rebind exotic key on ThinkPad x230t with xmodmap or similar
To make it work in everywhere you need to be doing something at the evdev level. I think interception tools would allow it to work. I use caps2esc, it really works everywhere. Not sure if there are any current plugins that would make it easy though.

I'm starting to use tmux and switching window with C-b <number> is kinda uncomfortable, any better solutions ?
People often remap the "prefix" from `C-b` to something easier (keys closer together). I have CapsLock modified to be Ctrl/Esc (via https://gitlab.com/interception/linux/plugins/caps2esc) and then I mapped tmux prefix to be `C-a` (CapsLock is 'C' and 'a' is right next to it) for a very convenient prefix.

move a floating window with the touchpad
if you find a way to register the touchpad gestures and then map some actions on them, then that's the way. since a touchpad is basically a ps/2 mouse device, you can't just make it so if you just move your finger across it, the action occurs, as it would render your laptop unusable. since it's a separate device (assuming you also use a mouse), then you might try to find something similar to this, but for mouse (idk if that thing works for mouse events). otherwise you can't do it ig

Advanced keyboard config
What a -great- tool mate. I have spent quite some time to get my 'vim' keymap working properly on my arch OS, by using interceptor tools (https://gitlab.com/interception/linux/tools); but I have to admit, this keyd tool is way more simple to configure and quite easy to use.
