A Super Mario Bros. X Port exists for the 3DS
There is a project called "TheXTech" by Wohlstand which ports the SMBX engine to C++, and there are numerous releases including on Android and Switch. The port is WIP, but it works really well, with nearly full speed on old 3DS with occasional (audio) stutter. Even 3D is supported (surprisingly).
