    Pi-hole exists

  • uBlock

uBlock Origin - An efficient blocker for Chromium and Firefox. Fast and lean.

They're working on it, already have a first test Release which blocks manifest network requests https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/commit/a559f5f2715c58fea4de09330cf3d06194ccc897

  • Ultimate.Hosts.Blacklist

The Ultimate Unified Hosts file for protecting your network, computer, smartphones and Wi-Fi devices against millions of bad web sites. Protect your children and family from gaining access to bad web sites and protect your devices and pc from being infected with Malware or Ransomware.

One thing I can suggest that will ALWAYS work is blocking known ad websites on host file level: https://github.com/Ultimate-Hosts-Blacklist/Ultimate.Hosts.Blacklist (or equivalent, there's a lot of resources for it if you look it up)

  • brave-browser

Next generation Brave browser for Android, Linux, macOS, Windows.

I can't speak for the rest as I don't know, and this isn't a permanent dolution by any means, but if you're a Brave user, you should still be able to use V2 extensions for at least a while after V3 is released, hard to say how long, but support should still continue for a while. Not to mention Brave has expressed interest in potentially releasing their own extension storefront.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
