To test out my Tang Nano 4K board, I wrote a GitHub project that displays a static image through HDMI, available at https://github.com/juj/HDMI_testikuva (ignore the old retro PC in the photo, that is of another unrelated project)
The HDMI output is a good start, looks like we both settled on the signed coordinates idea, but I settled with the PAL bars and a bouncy box, the image you generated looks a lot more impressive than my bars!
