Suggestions for a markdown based note taking app with support to add and render images and add code?

I have tried vimwiki before, but sadly it cannot render images as I view and write the notes (I will have to generate the HTML for it). I have also tried foam which seems to solve everything and is also really good but VSCode is super heavy alongside other things I have open.

Thank you! But from what I have tried, Zim doesn't support md, and this was the only work around, which is not working well on my current installation of Elementary OS.
