What is your best practice to save an article from the Arch Wiki?
The zim file format is for this application, which handles markups, so it doesn't use .html files.
-
Looking for something like Obsidian Portal or Kanka.io, but offline/local to my computer
I don't have experience with those programs, but I've used Zim before for similar purposes to great success. It's a framework for editing txt files that allows markup, embedded images, hyperlinks between pages, etc. It runs entirely offline, but you can sync it between computers with any sort of filesharing system (I kept mine in a Google Drive file, for instance)

Minisleep – A Tiny Wiki Engine
I use zim wiki for desktop wiki / knowledge base for my personal stuff. The biggest hurdle I have had with any wiki or knowledge base stuff is to actively using it and improving it. I find myself adding stuff in bursts and then not using it for weeks.
