  • Do you know a good and FOSS diary app?
I've been working on GitJournal for quite a while now. It even has alpha Desktop (Linux + Mac only for now) support as well. I recommend grabbing the latest build from the CI for Desktop.

  • FOSS Diary/journal ??
I've been working on GitJournal. It was meant as only a journaling app, but has morphed into a mix of journaling and note taking.

While not as feature rich, I found GitJournal[1] to be a good app that supports markdown + git sync.

  • Note taking Application for Linux

Recently switched from using Google Keep to GitJournal https://gitjournal.io/ synced to my private notes repo on GitHub. Editing on Linux using VSCode with note structure is quick while on the phone GitJournal app just works yet has some limitations like inability to move ticked tasks down or add new task at the top (notes mode is fine - just a simple editor).
  • Git Wiki
I use wiki.js as wiki, it can be setup to sync to/from a git repository. And on the phone you can use GitJournal to view it and make changes even when you're offline, it then syncs the changes to the git repo which then syncs them to wiki.js. Just be aware you then probably would only create markdown pages (and no html/wysiwyg pages) in wiki.js because GitJournal can only render markdown files.
Maybe have a look at GitJournal? I spotted this recently but haven’t tried it out yet.
  • looking or a self hosted journal for sysadmins
Some use git to keep either for their nots or as a backend. There are apps. The only one that comes to mind is gitjournal ttps://gitjournal.io/ There are a lot of systems that use git as a backend to keep notes and sync across your devices.

Kind of - There is an option to always add specific frontmatter when creating a new file. It's however in the pro version.

I'm yet to implement proper templating support.

  • Is Math Rendering Possible Yet
There is a current issue tracking it - https://github.com/GitJournal/GitJournal/issues/125 . I had a basic proof of concept working, but getting proper font-rendering caused a lot of problems, and I put it on hold.
  • Archivy Extensible Self Hosted Knowledge Base V1
If you go this route, you can also use GitJournal as a mobile app where you can also edit content.
