linux-cachyos
Archlinux Kernel based on different schedulers and some other performance improvements.
Mangohud's fps_limit=X option. I've read that this introduces at least 1 frame of input latency, so I'm seeing if there's a better option.
DXVK's DXVK_FRAME_RATE=X option. Seems to have been updated semi-recently.
Libstrangle. The options for it, at least for vsync, seem extremely similar to Mangohud's settings in GOverlay, so this may be doing the exact same thing.
Gamescope's -r X option. Only available for AMD and Intel graphics. Unfortunately, I have an NVIDIA GPU. So I can't use this, but I thought I would include it for discussion's sake. I'd guess this is probably the best solution since this is what the Steam Deck uses; the PR says they use "strategic buffer withholding."
in regards to that link, it looks like that person was running a cachyos kernel, ive never ran this kernel though but again any one of these kernels should be better than the default kernel.
