Most importantly, before spending time on solving problems, you need to identify the cause, start the game with mangohud and gamemoderun and then see what is loaded the most, the processor, GPU, or RAM, also trace the i/o from the drive, so you can see for example abnormally low frequencies on the component, or low i/o if the drive is the problem.

MangoHud: A Vulkan and OpenGL overlay for monitoring FPS, temperatures, CPU/GPU load and more. It's become the standard for FPS monitoring. It's inspired by Afterburner.
  • Some MAME 0.230 benchmarks with different CFLAGS | 2021-04-01
The FPS was by logged by mangohud. "Average speed" is the average speed reported by MAME. These are different sources of data and are measuring different things (boot-up sequences, 2d menus etc) so it's expected that the numbers won't line up exactly. I stuck with games that didn't run at 100% on a 2700x. Actually, blitz does pretty much run at 100%, but I didn't realize it until later and I had to endure a football game for that data, so it's going in.
  • Porting native UE4 games on Linux with linux specific features (gamemode mangohud vkbasalt etc.) Plugin need Help !
Supporting official repository packages, and if they are installed on the system and game detects it the setting will not be greyed out and people can toggle things like vkbasalt, gamemode, mangohud from in game settings rather than launch options. (even resolutions can be set using launch options but settings built into the Games is always preferred way of deploying). Positives - Official repository packages are easier to install and handle and many distros like Fedora automatically install gamemode when installing Steam. and installs vkbasalt and mangohud with softwares like goverlay package, this will make easier for the person deploying the game as he has to only worry about the game and components will be managed by distro maintainers and upstream developers with a little communication from a developer like myself. Negatives - This can lead to distro specific bugs which are harder to tackle and every distro have different versions compiled of these components and also people may have to install these components separately depending on their distro.

On my 2700x, I did my own benchmark by using mangohud's logging feature playing though the first couple of levels. I filtered out all of the values over 70FPS because there were enough obvious errors with massive numbers that it caused inflated results.

  • Lutris doesn't recognize my Dedicated GPU and also can't play exe games
Yes. If there's any error/problem occur you can check the logs and figure out from there. Also check out Mangohud. It's an overlay that display stats (GPU, CPU, RAM usage, temperature etc) in-game. You can easily see whether your game is running from integrated or dedicated GPU by looking at which GPU is displayed by Mangohud.
