Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • DeDRM_tools

    DeDRM tools for ebooks

  • I recommend DeDRM Tools. It's available as a Calibre plug in, and has recently gained the ability to handle KFX (although your mileage may vary - I haven't gotten it to work for me with KFX). It's also not that hard to get an old version of Kindle for PC, disable the (now forced) update process, and download books in older formats (e.g., KF8). (A bit of time with a search engine should get you the files involved for that.) Then you can drag and drop from the download location into Calibre and automagically get a DRM free version that you can then convert into whatever format you want.

  • kobo-book-downloader

A tool to download and remove DRM from your purchased Kobo.com ebooks and audiobooks.

  • For ebook/audiobook fans, I'll plug https://github.com/subdavis/kobo-book-downloader

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • Calibre Web

:books: Web app for browsing, reading and downloading eBooks stored in a Calibre database

  • It allows you to buy a book from Kobo instead of Amazon, download it, and then put it on your kindle using either https://calibre-ebook.com/ or https://github.com/janeczku/calibre-web.

  • calibre

The official source code repository for the calibre ebook manager

  • It allows you to buy a book from Kobo instead of Amazon, download it, and then put it on your kindle using either https://calibre-ebook.com/ or https://github.com/janeczku/calibre-web.

  • Chocolatey

Chocolatey - the package manager for Windows

  • Fun fact: most of the Kindle DRM removal tools are using the work done here in some way, legitimately or not. So you might as well get it from the source. Also, Chocolatey has packages for both Calibre and the DeDRM Calibre plugin, so you can have a simple means of having the latest versions of both. In my experience they are updated quite close to the official release, as well.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
