Great! Here's my latest completed [project](https://github.com/smfxfc/FighterFactBot) if you're interested. Have been doing some web scraping as of late too.
Look into Racket. It is a functional first Lisp with a good set of libraries and a nice IDE. You might need some time to get used to the syntax but apart from that it feels similar to python.
There is a project called nocolon that makes this point by using file encoding to substitute colons in Python code without them, illustrating that it is still syntactically unambiguous.
