Project mention: Connect Midea Dehumidifier to WiFi without using the App? | /r/homeautomation | 2023-06-01Gotcha. Have you tried this integration for local control? Regardless of what you use, I believe you do have to use the Midea app to get it initially connected to your WiFi. (I went with the dongle + ESPHome route, so can't offer much first-hand experience here.) There's a long thread over in the HA forums that might offer some more insight if you haven't gone through it already.
Which is likely what is happening here. The LG "ThinQ" washing machines do allow for remote starts: https://github.com/ollo69/ha-smartthinq-sensors/issues/234
> After 10 minutes (IIRC) in remote start mode without starting the machine goes to sleep. You must use the smartthinq_sensors.wake_up command to wake it up, then the remote_start command to start it.
