It needs a driver, looks like there is one here: https://github.com/medusalix/xow

Recommended Controllers?
Been using Xbox One Elite controllers (both gen 1 and 2) for a couple years now without issue and I even use the proprietary Xbox wireless USB dongle. If you use this "xone" driver then it just works as it does in Windows. It's an evolution of the older "xow" driver where you'd just have to run a command to invoke the pairing process, if anyone was familiar with that driver.

Has anyone tried using an Xbox Series X/S controller chatpad as a keyboard yet?
You need an Xbox wireless dongle, disabling read-only mode and install xow driver. https://github.com/medusalix/xow

Compiling Linux driver for SteamDeck.
I am trying to add a Linux driver called XOW ( xow/README.md at master · medusalix/xow (github.com) ) to my steamdeck using Konsole. This driver allows the usb connection of the Microsoft controller dongle. I know I can use standard bluetooth but the dongle has lower latency, and well I guess I like a project. But I'm stuck.

Microsoft Xbox Adaptive Controller support is coming to Linux
Have you tried xow or xone? xow made the official XBone wireless dongle plug-n-play for me. I've been using it since 2018 or so.

USBGuard
If I were an attacker, could I clone the device id and attributes of the victim's previously approved devices? https://github.com/USBGuard/usbguard#before-the-first-start
Anyway I enjoy this HID stuff, I've been playing with using a computer as a keyboard to another computer. With scroll, num, and capslock LED's, bidirectional communication can be achieved and by injecting a small process I think some new kind of universal REPL can be accomplished.

USBGuard vs USB?
Few days ago I found this: https://usbguard.github.io/ but during read some information how-to, I found comments similar to this: "A USB device can identify itself basically however it wants ". What's your opinion? USBGuard could be a tool, that nice to have or could be useless for some reason?
