Is my lwtoc working?
If you're not using the Alternative Mod Launcher you should

Why don't my mods work with this new launcher, and can I fix it?
Get Alternative Mod Launcher. https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/xcom2-launcher/wiki

Trouble Launching War of the Chosen
It's weird that verifying files doesn't work. Try renaming the config folder in user/documents/my games/xcom/xcomwotc, when you launch the game it should regenerate the folder and maybe it'll run properly. Also, even if you don't use mods try the Alternative Mod Launcher, the 2k launcher is garbage.

X-COM 2 and War of the Chosen won't start after re-install
I've never used the 2k launcher but I've heard from modders that it's so useless that sometimes it fails to even load the game, don't even think of loading mods with it. I don't know if this is your problem but you can try to use the Alternative Mod Launcher, of course you don't need to actually load any mods, just use it to launch the game, maybe that will work

Xcom WotC cannot find mods after transferring to HDD
You shouldn't be using the 2k launcher, use the AML instead, if it doesn't find the mods go into settings and add the folder to the list
- XCOM 2 with mods?
-
How can i get directly downloaded mods and Steam mods to work and what DLC's should i enable
Check this sub's wiki, at the bottom it shows you how to set up a local mods folder, then you should add that folder to AML, which you should be using for modded XCOM 2

What games go from "ok" to "extremely good" when modded?
Dude, the og launcher Is shit; you gotta use the AML if you wanna play X2 decently. AML stands for Alternative Mod Launcher, and it's an X2 launcher built by the community to make mod management easier (and since the various launcher updates, keep the game running as well...) You can find it here on GitHub: https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/xcom2-launcher

[XCOM2 WOTC] Is there any tutorials on how to mod this game?
Download the Xcom Alternative Mod Launcher from here: https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/xcom2-launcher

Just got done with a session where I couldn't do any autopsy.
Are you using the AML ? It will tell you if there is any conflicts, tho it can't show all the problems that your list might have

Lessons from Open-Source Game Projects
OpenXCOM - XCOM clone. C++, SDL2

XcomUtil
Love(ed) that game.
Always wonder where they get their "recruits", who seem to have trouble with aiming their weapons towards the enemy.
There's an open-source & cross platform remake of the engine. You still need the original game assets.
Easy to mod - he config files are YAML.

A littel guide for alien colony assaults in TFTD
(Before I say anything I just want to say that I've only played TFTD on beginner. I don't know if this works on the harder difficulties, but I feel like the strategy is relatively sound. Please don't take my word as gospel lol. Also, PLEASE USE OPENXCOM! It's a lifesaver.)

Is the original Xcom games worth playing nowadays?
If you want to go for that ride I highly recommend to buy the game and install OpenXCom which comes with full compability on modern systems and QoL improvements and a ton of mods and bugfixes (note you need a copy of the original to play openxcom as it uses the sprites, music etc.): https://openxcom.org/

What game gives you nostalgia and how old are you?
X-Com was just so hard, and I kept naming all my soldiers various family and friend names ... and boy did they die a lot. I still go back and play it randomly to this day, thanks to the https://openxcom.org project 🤘🤘🤘

Save 100% on Warhammer 40,000: Gladius
Are you talking about this? That's a homage to the original X-COM games, not the two revived XCOM games (Enemy Unknown and 2).
- An ironman victory almost 30 years in the making. What a journey. What a game. Unlike anything else.

What is your favorite open source Linux game? Mine is Wideland (Best way to describe is the way Settlers 3 should have been)
With the amount of streams I have with modded openxcom, I'm pretty sure I'm already addicted to it.

Et indblik i pirateri af computerspil 90’erne
Til dem der ikke er færdig med at spille UFO: Enemy Unknown, så er der ret meget at hente i OpenXcom. Spil var bare bedre dengang.
