Modulab (prev. SF-NTP-FF) - A Safari-inspired newtab page
Tip: If you want your navigation bar and tabs to match the color of the page you're on (see the image above), check out VivaldiFox, which is fully compatible with Modulab!

website theme extending - only frame should "apply page colors"

my poorly cropped tier list, I hope it helps you make a d(rul)ecision
I've never used Vivaldi, but it might be possible to recreate most of its features in Firefox with addons and a userChrome.css theme. For one thing, I enjoy this plugin that recreates the color-changing tabs.
-
How to make the color of tabs or the active tab change depending on the site, for example, if it is youtube, then the tab will be red
The only somewhat workable solution for that is to write an extension that does something on every site to extract some color information from it. You would obviously have to decide what it even means for site "to have some specific color" which could be non-trivial. You can perhaps check Vivaldifox github page for pointers on how they do such color extraction.

The Grex system will be permanently shut down
You should install one of the many referrer removal addons and enable it for hacker news. For example: https://github.com/airtower-luna/referer-mod
If you're going to browse a website that's known for being full of awful tech-bros, racists, and fans of paul graham, it's usually best to avoid advertising that to the rest of the internet.
Most sites are too lazy to do anything based on referrer, but there are several sites out there that go the extra mile to put out a welcome mat to people coming from this wretched site.

Is there any alternative to the Smart Referer add-on for Firefox?
On the github issue tracker of Arkenfox user.js, there's an open issue in which one of the comments seem to claim that there's this new add-on called "Referer Modifier" which is capable of doing the same thing but to me it seems to be WIP from the looks of the github repository. I would be glad if any of you who has tried this add-on can tell me more about it and whether it is capable enough, as it is, to replace Smart Referer add-on. Apart from this, if you know about any other alternatives to Smart Referer add-on, please let me know about it in the comments. I don't have a GitHub or GitLab account to open an issue myself or join the ongoing discussions regarding the same issue which is why I thought about posting here on this subreddit.
What are some alternatives?
