Rustdesk is slow
The last I checked the Windows version of the server was a few versions behind. So if you use that version it might not have all the features of the current server version on Linux. You can go here https://github.com/rustdesk/rustdesk-server/releases and look for release 1.1.6-2 to find the Windows version of the server.

TeamViewer Alternative with Hosted Address Book of Clients
Could you tell me more about the API server? All I found online is this repo, but I'm not sure what's the difference from the official server available online.

Best Open Source free TeamViewer be like program
If you absolutely require the solution to be free and open source, take a look at Remotely and RustDesk. I don't have any hands-on experience with these platforms though. MeshCentral is another popular one, but their code base scares me.

Need advice on Teamviewer on servers
That said, highly recommend MeshCentral. It is open source and created and maintained by Intel Principal Engineer Ylian Saint-Hilaire. It can use either Intel AMT or software agents, which are available for pretty much every platform. It's stable, secure and easy to use. It doesn't look particularly modern, but it works beautifully.

Something Wrong With TRMM
Why not try MeshCentral? From what I understand, it is what TRMM is based on. It is completely free, supported by Ylian at IBM and a small team, accepts pull requests, and gets new features frequently. What's more, they won't charge a thing. In fact, I have asked to donate to the project and they will not accept it. If you need remote access, batch and powershell command windows, and file transfer, MC will do the job. Cross platform, Windows Mac and Linux.
