Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Millions of smart meters will brick it when 2G and 3G turns off
My municipal water meter transmits readings in the clear on the 915 MHz band. There's a neat program to catch the readings: https://github.com/bemasher/rtlamr

Installer wanted $500 to install CTs. Paid $15 for a meter reader and spent a lazy Sunday getting this dialed in
Great - thanks for sharing this! I have an enphase system that shows me my production in HA, and I can read my solar and net meters using rtlamr to figure out consumption. I use the Utility Meter helper to create a sensor showing my current net meter change. When this number is negative, I'm sending energy to the grid, and when it's positive, I'm taking energy from the grid. What I'm trying to figure out is how to create sensors that will be acceptable to the Energy Dashboard so that I can get nice graphics like you have. showing how much energy is going to or from the grid. Any help greatly appreciated.

Smart natural gas meters or analytical models to determine hourly usage?
this varies by meter but if you are into tech you can listen for the broadcasts with a rtl-sdr and https://github.com/bemasher/rtlamr software

Can I size a heat pump purely from historical gas usage?
Using an RTL-SDR device configured to read meter data. I have it connected to my HomeAssistant smarthome setup to log the data and populate energy usage dashboards.

ULPT request: How can I jam a smart meter signal? [UK]
I disagree, 20 quid dongle on amazon and rtlamr allows you to read many common meters. From usage you can tell when someone is cooking, showering, or not at home. Thieves already use more advanced tech to steal cars so it's only a matter of time before this is used to scope houses for burglaries.

Public Central Hudson API?
Absolutely! I'm using a Nooelec NESDR Mini as a Software Defined Radio connected to a raspberry pi that's running a program called RTLAMR, which will pickup all the Automated Meter Reader signals in the area. There's some research you'll have to do to find your meter ID, manufacturer, and protocol, but once you have it narrowed down to your meter you can publish the entries to an MQTT instance using rtlamr2mqtt, where Home Assistant can pick it up and use it to track your total energy consumption.

Conversion from tm struct and String into time_t
Redshift has code to calculate that locally which I use in my sunrise light project

Does XFCE have a night light?
FWIW, Linux Mint XFCE comes with Redshift.

How do you build circuits?
eg for this project my available inputs were intermittent 12v power, bluetooth, and the current time and location; and the desired output was 3× high current low-side switches that produced 12v RGB PWM corresponding to the colour temperature and brightness of the sky - so we need a bluetooth microcontroller, battery backup to keep time when 12v is absent, some battery management which wanted 5v in, a 12v buck to feed it, some MOSFETs, and redshift or similar code to plug into things.

How can I use an Arduino board to control LEDs so it imitates the sunlight color temperature throughout the day?
I just added redshift as a submodule to handle the GPS location + UTC time to color temperature conversion.

what's the alternative for linux like F.lux for windows for yellow light and brightness for screen?
But I still use redshift and prefer it over f.lux. I am on cell and this is first result so double check https://github.com/jonls/redshift

Linux (Debian) equivalent of DimScreen on Windows or MonitorControl on MacOS?
Anyway, for dimming screens with overlays (or gamma alteration), Redshift seems to have a -b option.

How do you even install redshit on windows ? (screen temp program)
The instructions are super confusing to me. Here's the github :https://github.com/jonls/redshift
