How to configure and build a Pop_OS installer that will boot on a RX 7900 series GPU?
22.04 config is here - https://github.com/pop-os/iso/blob/master/config/pop-os/22.04.mk

Back when i tried, it was not this easy. Now i know how some distros do it
It might not be news for many, but i had never taken this route and after finding out about live-build i was able to find the repo for popos for example https://github.com/pop-os/iso

Is there a free (as in free spech) version of Pop_OS or a guide to make it one .
Bascially asking about updates for this issue: https://github.com/pop-os/iso/issues/18 or maybe a petite guide for making Pop_OS free (or even to only include open source software/firmware, I don't really care about licencing and patenting issues)
- It kills me to say this as a pop_os fan…

Issue installing Pop! 21.10 in VMWare Player
I attempted to upgrade a 21.10 install inside VMWare Player 16 on Windows, and pretty much epic failed. I downloaded the newest ISO and tried a new install, and that too fails. It reports a 'device busy (Error 16), which appears to be a previously fixed bug (#216) in GitHub: https://github.com/pop-os/iso/issues/216

Trying to switch from endeavour to pop however the installer fails and the log mentions something about endeavour
Ah, this is a known issue: https://github.com/pop-os/distinst/issues/196 https://github.com/pop-os/iso/issues/224

How to add packages directly to a iso?
Quick google told me about this: https://github.com/pop-os/iso, but I can't help more, as I never used Pop.

Why is this showing when I start my pop os? I don't even run Ubuntu.
The rest of the article is here https://github.com/pop-os/iso/issues/205

Install failed. I tried 20.04, 20.10, different USBs, different hard drives and NOPE!
Seems like a known issue https://github.com/pop-os/iso/issues/224 there are some work arounds in that post.

Amiga/Linux: Jurassic Boing Edition
Still got a lot to figure out. This is the first time I'm tinkering with MUI (NGL. It feels like the Win32-esque API that had been missing from GNU/Linux for all these years). Eventually, I'll write an OS installer that will use MUI for the GUI and the excellent distinst for the installer routines.

Activate automatic file system check (proactive maintenance)
I wasn't sure if it is a bug or intended behavior so I shared my thoughts about it on Mattermost and thanks to u/jacobgkau now there is an open issue about it on GitHub.

Are then plans to support btrfs install out of the box?
There is the PR from earlier this year though I am not sure the priorities they have right now, given the new DE work.

Pop_OS! Devs, it's time to implement BTRFS in the OS .
Already finished a few months ago https://github.com/pop-os/distinst/pull/286

Pop_OS btrfs install not working
Besides all is not despair and sadness because there is currently a proposal (https://github.com/pop-os/distinst/pull/286) to add btrfs as a target file system from the installer, so that all the post-installation footwork will no longer be necessary). As you can see it must still go through QA but it's promising!

There is a feature request for this, but it hasn't gained traction or mention. https://github.com/pop-os/distinst/issues/256
