I’m not sure if this ad is regional but it makes me semi-uncomfortable every time [ns]
If I download the episode behind my pi-hole on my home wifi, I don't get any ads. If if download/stream them off my cellphone service, I'll still get them. Can't recommend pi-hole more.

Never do that
A DNS blackhole (aka sinkhole) is a means of blocking ads and malicious sites on a network. It can either be a package added to your Linux-based firewall/router/proxy server or set up as an independent appliance. Two examples I’m aware of are pfblockerng or pihole. I personally use pfsense with pfblockerng and several of the main blacklists.

Do I need to go back and configure iptables?
I'm starting to configure some applications on my home server and am revisiting my existing network configuration before I get too deep. As a first step I'm investigating installing openvpn on my pihole server and have been rereading the getting-started guide on pi-hole.net. I noticed that as a prerequisite iptables are supposed to be configured as per these rules. Running `iptables --list` locally doesn't show any rules set up, and I'm not running either of the alternative applications listed on the doc. I've been running this pihole server for about a year for dns with unbound and dhcp. Have I screwed up pretty badly here? Do I need to go back and add those rules? Thanks.

Two VLANs on one port?
If you want to SSH in and poke around, that’s on you. I have read people figured out how to disable outbound SRCNAT by finding the appropriate iptables rule and making a script to disable it. Likewise there’s a whole group of people active at https://github.com/boostchicken-dev/udm-utilities that have hacked in more functionality, and you can have conversations about UDM hacking on the unofficial ubiquiti discord https://discord.gg/ui

UDM-Pro & Port 443 Forwarding?
You can do this by using cni to create a macvlan then run your http server and bind it to the created ip. You can use port forwarding to forward 443 to the macvlan ip as if it was external.

Pi-hole doesn't automatically restart when restarting UDM-Pro
I installed on-boot-script and have 10-dns.sh in /mnt/data/on_boot.d, but I'm assuming that's not running correctly because of items 1 and 2 above. Is there something else I need to do?
I recently installed Pi-hole on my UDM Pro and it works great, with the exception that it won't automatically restart when I restart the UDM Pro. I've validated that the problem is that the container isn't running by executing podman ps; all I have to do is re-start pihole and it works again.

issue installing pihole on my UDM
# curl -L https://github.com/boostchicken-dev/udm-utilities/raw/master/cni-plugins/20-dns.conflist -o /mnt/data/podman/cni/dns.conflist
Hi, I've followed these instructions - here But I got this error

wireguard no handshake
Ah, you too have a UDM. I don't know if you knew it was an option, but if you already have the udm-utilities boot loader set up ( https://github.com/boostchicken-dev/udm-utilities) , there is a kernel level wireguard model that you can install right into the udm. ( https://github.com/tusc/wireguard-kmod)
