Steam really needs to ban 3rd party launchers
Steam is in no position to dictate anything, neither against publishers nor against customers. Paradox owns those games legally to do whatever they want so if you don't like them, don't buy their games. Even DRM free, GOG copies have 2ndary launchers as well. Try this as someone is as pissed as yourself against Paradox.

Ck3 is unplayable.
As for the launcher, it is shit, there is no other description for it. You can try using the 3rd party Not Paradox Launcher tool that runs ck3 without the launcher. I've used it for Cities Skylines and they say it should work for other games, so it's worth a try.

Linux issues with Heroic and Paradox Launcher (Cities Skylines)
To solve this error, check the directory that the launcher tries to install (should be inside the wine prefix heroic makes) and instead unzip the latest *windows* release from here there. Set heroic to run the unzipped "launcher.exe", run it once to create the missing files, and then unset the exe again in heroic. then run as normal!

Running CK3 on an optimus laptop with prime-run.
I also tried using the notparadoxlauncher https://github.com/shusaura85/notparadoxlauncher but it doesn't have an option to prepend prime-run.

I like modding but I wish I spent less time loading.
Either that, Not Paradox Launcher, or Load Order Mod with its own mod/asset manager and the use of profiles for either gameplay or making content.

Has anyone else not been able to launch the game since the new launcher is released? (launcher-v2.2020.17) After clicking 'Start Game', the launcher failed to load and showed me this message

Every attempt to load the game, it does this. Can anyone help or advise? Yes it has worked on this, yes the PC is capable of running it.
