    • To solve this error, check the directory that the launcher tries to install (should be inside the wine prefix heroic makes) and instead unzip the latest *windows* release from here there. Set heroic to run the unzipped "launcher.exe", run it once to create the missing files, and then unset the exe again in heroic. then run as normal!
