We've seen this framework forking happen a lot as good ideas are remixed like Aurelia via Angular, Derw via Elm, Restify via Express, and Spring Boot via Spring to name a few. It's interesting to me this obsession with performance that Preact has with their ability to provide a simple API. That said, I am in no way convinced this'll solve the architecture problem. Without at least guidance, or more importantly, a framework + docs on how to utilize Signals at scale, you'll just end up with a random mess. Still, it's awesome how far they've come, and it's neat to see them still innovating years later.

Restify.js: Future of Node.js REST development

Express GraphQL is a library for building production ready GraphQL HTTP middleware. Despite the emphasis on Express in the repo name, you can create a GraphQL HTTP server with any HTTP web framework that supports connect styled middleware. This includes Connect itself, Express and Restify.

Is express still the go-to HTTP server? How are hapi and restify doing? Has koa ever really picked up? Is there any new cool stuff to watch out for (fastify, anyone)?

Restify - No native support yet. Support merged mid-2020, scheduled for a v9 release.

Previously we created a chat with pusher. but this time we are going to do it with Socket.io. Socket.io is a NodeJS library. With it we can create our own servers. This is cheaper than using pusher server and we have more control on the code.

The first is the script tag in the head of our HTML document that loads the Socket.IO client library. This script tag includes the Socket.IO client library that will communicate with our socket.io server from the code above.

Now we will be implementing socket logic using socket.io for building websockets. This library provides an abstraction layer on top of WebSockets, simplifying the process of creating real-time applications. For better maintainability, it is recommended to create a separate file for socket calls. To do this, navigate to the src folder, create a folder named services, and inside it, create a file named socket.ts under the services folder.

Hi I made a chat app using socket.io it worked fine locally but when i deployed the app on render.com socket is not working properly i have to refresh the page to see new messages please help...

yes. Im running on DreamCompute currently. Discord.js and socket.io within same app. A dedicated server works too, but pricier.
