Is there anyway to make the NightTab editor transparent?
Sorry, that is not possible at the moment. It's something I've thought about adding but the project is not in active development at the moment.

firefox minimal gruvbox theme using nighttab and simplefox theme
for the home screen : https://github.com/zombieFox/nightTab
- Currently on Firefox the menu only shows the default setup. Is there a way around this?

I made an add-on for Firefox that lets you cleanup the Unsplash site by removing the pay walled images from their new Unsplash+ service. Hope this helps a few people out there! 😊
I really like this. Definitely has the MacOS/Apple vibe going for it. I don't see it pulling me away from nightTab, just due to the shear amount of customization it offers, but if you added the ability to let users set their own image and/or icon for each link that would be nice!

NightTap Extension is Safe?
nightTab is safe. Iit has no access any of your personal data. You can confirm this by a number of ways: - It doesn't ask for any permissions - It is open source and anyone can see the source code - It is published on both the Chrome and Firefox extension stores, so has gone through the checks and reviews by each company. In fact, as part of Firefoxs review process their team requests a copy of the source code to look through. Happy to answer any other questions about my project.

Exporting to a different desktop
Hi, this is possible. You have to export your setup and move it to the other device to be imported there. More detailed steps are found here: https://github.com/zombieFox/nightTab/wiki/Data-backup-and-restore
-
Cannot import backups.
I'm unable to reproduce this issue. Can you open an issue on the GitHub repo? Please include lots of details about the browser version, OS, the backup file etc.

Bringing attention to the potential of Firefox’s customisation
There are generally 3 types of start pages ones that have add-ons, simple html sites ("demos") and self hosted start pages. Installing the add ons should be simple and can be applied to both your homepage/new tab.
-
Is NightTab safe?
It is open source and anyone can see the source code
-
Downloads bookmark not working
That URL is protected by the browser and extensions cannot access it. Please see the wiki page on protected URLs for more details.

What kind of Alpine user are you?
The control panel is called Homepage. I like it more than Heimdall. To manage Docker I use Portainer.
-
which dashboard without (!) docker?
You don't need to use heimdall with docker. You just need a working web server with PHP then install it from source: https://github.com/linuxserver/Heimdall Instructions are in the readme.
-
Homer Homepage
I prefer using Heimdall
- I'm looking for a web interface for me to access all my stuff from one domain without any ports
-
Heimdall v3 - has anyone tried it yet?
There is a 3.x branch, but it hasn't been touched in about a year. Contrast that to the 2.x branch which was updated within the last week. Seems maybe there isn't any development on the 3.x branch.

Self Hosted Roundup # 29
Fo example, Heimdall is a dashboard, a polygon validator node, and an Android firmware flasher. All of which are quite popular projects
-
40 Containers & Counting...
Heimdall - A homepage for self-hosted applications (like 'Homepage', but for people who prefer to do the config in the application, rather than editing .yaml files)
-
Creating Hostnames that include ports
There is a more straightforward solution if it's all just for internal links. Set up something like heimdal. https://github.com/linuxserver/Heimdall
-
My Homelab
Heimdall: A homelab dashboard linking to all my services
-
Heimdall does not allow logging in remotely.
Dispute configure heimdall correctly for your domain? There is a github issue about this: https://github.com/linuxserver/Heimdall/issues/362
