Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Any way to control the CPU fan curve on a custom built PC?
The only other thing I can think of is https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfc

I don't have any fan speed control option on my Rog gl702vm?
Try Notebook FanControl. There's a config profile for GL702VM included.

OMEN Gaming Hub is corporate malware - any alternatives for controlling performance and fan speeds?
Non tinkerer answer: no Otherwise: Maybe, specially if you are a programmer, take a look at this project https://github.com/determ1ne/OmenHubLight (it supposedly supports four zones rgb and fan control), or this one https://github.com/alou-S/omen-fan which is for linux, but should give you an idea of what has to be done and maybe port it to windows using ec-probe utility from https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfc, and last but not least the hp-wmi linux driver https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/platform/x86/hp/hp-wmi.c which has some of the gaming hub features ported.

I know this isn't generally a place for memes but it really really fits :)
As a person that still uses Linux on my laptop (its an old gaming laptop I use as a server) I know your pain about fan control, on windows you have many functional fancontrol software but on Linux it's crickets I did find this utility that worked for my laptop but it took over 3 hours for me to figure out how it worked and properly configure it for my specific gaming laptop

My fan is running everytime, is there a way to stop it
There are hacky ways like NBFC here: https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfc This tool works by writing embedded controller registers directly. This can work for some laptops but has its own danger to it.

PowerShell Script - Fan Speed Control
To depress just yet, fortunately, there is a very nice, open-source windows tool that can be used to control a laptop fans: NOTEBOOK FAN CONTROL
- Any software like FanControl?

How can I change my fan speed on my TUF gaming , I tried Amoury Crate but it didn’t work?
You have access to the fan curves only thru Armoury Crate's manual mode . I haven't personally tried this but there was an app called "notebook fan control", it might be helpful . I used to run it on my GL502VY laptop back in the day where it was kinda impossible to change the fan speeds. You can find it on github

Low usage distro for developer
Macbook Airs of that era ran Sandy Bridge processors, so, assuming apple didn't factory under volt them, you can usually get away with at least a 100 mV under volt, which would increase all core performance, extend turboboost time, and increase battery life.

Needing a new distro
it being Debian means you can also easily install the liquorix kernel from the MX control panel, to get some decent gaming focused optimizations. I'd also suggest checking out https://github.com/georgewhewell/undervolt and considering undervolting your laptop, as it's about the only performance hack you can do with older, low powered laptops. It makes a big difference on the chromebooks I was mentioning, lower battery usage, lower temperature, and able to run at full boost speed with no real issues. That, and configuring zram with zstd compression and zram-size=ram can be a real gamechanger on machines with low memory. Also, it might be worth it to just get some more memory, if that's an option, but I couldn't tell you without knowing more about the laptop.

Undervolt program not working (Linux Mint)
I dualboot Linux Mint and Windows 10 on my laptop. I already use Throttlestop for undervolting on Windows, and wish to do the same on Linux. So far the only ways to undervolt an Intel CPU in Linux that I have found are 3 similar softwares based on the same project: https://github.com/mihic/linux-intel-undervolt . Out of these 3 the only one I could understand to install was this one: https://github.com/georgewhewell/undervolt . According to the documentation, it should work with my CPU.

Undervolting in Nobara
Hello all. I'm using a Predator Helios 300 (2020) and was using Throttlestop before switching to Nobara. Stumbled upon this undervolting program on GitHub and just wondering if this is safe to use given that Nobara is using a custom kernel? My laptop tends to go around 95ish in temps while gaming and I know that's normal for a gaming laptop, I just want to lower it a bit.

I used undervolt (https://github.com/georgewhewell/undervolt). Not sure about intel-undervolt, didn't try it.
What are some alternatives?
fancontrol-gui - GUI for Fancontrol. It uses the KAuth module of the KDE Frameworks 5 to write the generated config file. Furthermore it communicates with systemd via dbus to control the fancontrol service. If you want to compile without systemd support set the -DNO_SYSTEMD option.
