LAN Party game caching made easy
A LAN party setup might still prefer this lancache setup for better experience depending on your network setup. This user talks about clients preferring Steam's functionality on a slower Steam client to a faster server with a bigger pipe: https://github.com/lancachenet/monolithic/issues/85#issuecom...
A smarter implementation could handle it better. But probably not an issue for the majority who aren't at lan parties and are at home. I also find my own Steam client will only connect to 1 host, and not attempt any others before falling back to downloading from Steam.

How to debug the Steam backup procedure (Deck -> NAS)
Run this docker container on your NAS and never worry about it again. https://hub.docker.com/r/lancachenet/monolithic It will make a copy of every game you download on either system. Then when the other machine asks for file it will serve them locally from your NAS.
- Something like Sonarr/Radarr for games

How to find the download/cdn server for a game launcher
There are some projects out there that try to cache game updates and the like. Something like this: https://github.com/lancachenet/monolithic
- Steam on PC & Steam Deck uses up all my bandwidth when downloading!
-
Elastic bandwidth for a rural area
Aside from bandwidth steering you also might want to look into LanCache (previously SteamCache), a transparent caching service that runs in a docker container.

[Question] The best way to keep Steam library updated on Synology NAS
If you want to save traffic for updating multiple PCs — install caching proxy https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamPipe#LAN_Caching or this https://hub.docker.com/r/lancachenet/monolithic
- Hey Steam devs, could you make this a thing? (local Steam games update server)

I wrote an app for myself to filter my library by HLTB
I've done something similar before with Playnite (an open-source PC game library manager), which has an HLTB plugin.

Tags no longer register and i've finally had it with galaxy 2.0. Any recommended alternatives?
Playnite: The one with the most features and libraries available via addons and has a lot of options for customization. In my opinion the best one available for this purpose.

What tools do I install?
As for my LGO, the only other app I've installed outside of the standard launcher was Playnite to consolidate all games into one place as Legion Space doesn't detect everything I have installed and I don't want to manage manually adding games to their launcher.

Steam Deck OLED
Here is where I come in and recommend everyone check out Playnite: https://playnite.link/
When I care about supporting a developer or publisher and they offer their product on their own storefront DRM-free, I will often go there to buy. Or I buy from GoG which takes a smaller cut. Playnite lets me launch my Steam and non-Steam games in a seamless fashion. Steam still does a great job as a game installer/patch manager, and helps me discover new games. But I'm not locked into paying them a 30% fee, which is pretty brutal for some smaller publishers.

PSA: Playnite Launcher has a "HDR Mode" per game!
For anyone with any of the myriad of HDR monitors that prefers to leave desktop mode in SDR RGB, I just discovered that the excellent Playnite game launcher has a feature where you can enable HDR on a per-game basis. Simply tick the "Enable HDR support" option under "Advanced" tab for the settings of the games that you want HDR turned on for. I was previously using the now-abandoned AutoActions for this, so glad to see there's an alternative in a tool I already use.
