You probably already know about this but mastercomfig is great for improving performance. There is also helpful documentation on performance mods, launch options, huds, hitsounds, etc...

Get a config bro, I don't know if you just always play with very high ping but there's a lot of delay when you shoot a rocket and it actually spawning the projectile, TF2's default config is known for doing that.

Somebody should make an in-game weapon specific crosshair switcher as a Workshop contribution. Manually editing config files is boring as fuck.
Go to mastercomfig, you can set weapon specific crosshairs along with changing how the game looks to improve performance

2) Standalone mods such as the commonly used no hats mod: No-Hats-Mod bgum [Team Fortress 2] [Mods] (gamebanana.com) and flat textures mod: Flat Textures (2021) [Team Fortress 2] [Mods] (gamebanana.com) offer little and no fps increase respectively. However, This mod: GitHub - JarateKing/CleanTF2plus: Clean TF2's sequel combines flat texture and no hats with a few other changes. Even if the other changes are not implemented, the mod offers a substantial fps boost (especially in the lower areas).

- Any Flat texture Mod that is similar to CleanTf2Plus Flat texture but it's Broken. ( IK there are many flat texture mods In GameBanana but most of them are either too Outdated or aren't nice enough).
