[COD] A guide to playing older CoDs on PC (a mini-thread)
MW2 (2009), AW, Ghosts For those looking for the good old days of MW2, and I guess if you wanna play Ghosts or AW, X-Labs has you covered. Like CoD4X, these games include new maps & guns. The community on MW2 is much healthier than Cod4 and you will be able to find games a lot more often. I do not own AW or Ghosts so i can not attest to how populated they are on a regular basis. Here's a link to the X-Labs client: https://xlabs.dev Here's a tutorial video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6QlaLathQ8

OG MW2 (2009) is alive and well in 2023 - READ THIS!
- PC is the second most active, and partly because of iw4x. IW4x is an open source project that allows you to set up your own dedicated servers with modifications for Modern Warfare 2 on top of a decentralized network. Main issue is the lack of vanilla lobbies and possible ping (it's region based). You can of course also play it on Steam but beware of hackers (there is an RCE exploit sadly but the patch is available in this sub's Discord) and of lack of support. However for Australians the steam version is safe to play via http://www.dedigamer.com/ These are dedicated servers hosted by a top bloke who's reverse engineered the game. It improves the experience as well as having great connection for anyone on the continent. Join the Discord above as there is a PC channel too.

2009scape – Runescape in 2009
Cool, I didn't realize Runescape private servers were a thing still.
I contribute to AzerothCore[0] pretty regularly. There's a lot of improvements that could be made, but it's overall fun and the majority of people who frequent their Discord are friendly enough.

Battle.net, Wow, Diablo IV Affected by DDoS Attack
Since Blizzard closed WoW in China, I found https://www.azerothcore.org/. They have a simple docker setup tutorial. I’ve been playing for a month and it’s been very interesting because they only support the English client. I’ve also learned a lot of English and currently feel great exploring the whole world alone.

Azerothcore is what Chromiecraft runs on. I recommend joining AC discord, lots of nice people there, great place if you want to learn/improve coding.

Recommendation for a Great 3.3.5(Wotlk) Single Player Experience?
I don't have any experience with running a server, but maybe AzerothCore could be an option? From what I can tell it is actively being worked on with the help of ChromieCraft.
