Something to log my ISP (business account) intermittent connection to prove to my ISP?
I use this to monitor my internet connection, it's originally designed for a raspberry pi but it will run on any Linux machine thanks to docker https://github.com/geerlingguy/internet-pi

Ethernet connection problems
For example, you’re probably receiving bad service from your provider. Run fast.com and post the results (run the “show more info” option). You may also consider running ongoing monitoring to compare over time. I use this app on a Raspberry Pi: https://github.com/geerlingguy/internet-pi

Direct change of DNS works fine but not via Pihole
i am having issue with when i am using my rpi4 (where pihole is installed) as my DNS server, it shows only my ISP's DNS on the clients side when i checked it with websites like https://www.top10vpn.com/tools/what-is-my-dns-server/. Where in my pihole settings, i set it to be using DNS's google, in the query log i can see the status shows that is answered by google#53 . but when i change my client's DNS server directly to google DNS, it shows both my ISP's DNS and Google DNS on the DNS checker website. i followed the link here to install pihole https://github.com/geerlingguy/internet-pi , which i believe is installing pihole and grafana inside a docker. Above also attached some screenshots from my pihole GUI.

Evaluation of Location Encoding Systems
Yeah, that seems like a bad design choice. If you look at the spec [0], you can see that they only use "23456789CFGHJMPQRVWX" in the codes. They apparently scored the letters based on how well they can spell 10000 words in 30 languages, without thinking about character similarity. If they had involved actual humans instead of counting letter frequency, they might have noticed that the letter W looks similar to VV, and that its English name is "double U". And tried a letter like N or Y, which would be much harder to confuse.

Houses having names instead of numbers.
I wish https://plus.codes/ took off. The benefit compared to what 3 words is that you can use the closest city to give directions and cells next to each other share the bigger cell name.

r/Starlink Questions Thread - March 2022
New to this so sorry if this is stupid. I've been trying to use https://plus.codes to try to check an address for availability at starlink. Whatever code I put in, it simply tells me afterwards "please enter an address or a plus code". That website seems to give me either a shorter or a longer plus code. Neither of them seems to make the starlink website happy. When I try putting in the address, it doesn't like that either. Confused on where to go from here.
