Jittery Servos (wip)
for what its worth, i’d like to mention that the script talking to the arduino (flashed with standard firmata) is only about 70 lines longs including all very generous amounts of comments blank lines. it almost looks like pseudocode at this point https://github.com/mithi/hexapod-irl/blob/dev/src/TEST_J52.js

If you’re interested in looking at the Arduino code, you can find it in my GitHub repository.
What are some alternatives?
OpenBot - OpenBot leverages smartphones as brains for low-cost robots. We have designed a small electric vehicle that costs about $50 and serves as a robot body. Our software stack for Android smartphones supports advanced robotics workloads such as person following and real-time autonomous navigation.
node-pixel - Library for using addressable LEDs (such as NeoPixels/WS2812) with Firmata and JohnnyFive
hexy - Code for a hexapod robot
johnny-five - JavaScript Robotics and IoT programming framework, developed at Bocoup.
hexapod - Blazing fast hexapod robot simulator for the web.
cylon.js - JavaScript framework for robotics, drones, and the Internet of Things (IoT)
tank - An automomously/remotely driven tank with Arduino (C++) and Raspberry Pi Zero W (Python/Node.js)
onoff - GPIO access and interrupt detection with Node.js
pigpio - Fast GPIO, PWM, servo control, state change notification and interrupt handling with Node.js on the Raspberry Pi
