Enchanced TileMap Editor for Godot 3.5!
I'm making this plugin because Godot 4 won't be mainstream for a long time (yes, it's awesome and I already love it). And in version 3.5, the TileMapEditor is very hard to use. Of course, it is possible to use "Tiled" editor and vnen/godot-tiled-importer, but this is also not always convenient. https://www.mapeditor.org/ https://github.com/vnen/godot-tiled-importer

I'm working on software to convert Tiled tilemaps into Godot tilemaps, with features specifically for my game! This will allow the community to create maps far easier.
Have you checked https://github.com/vnen/godot-tiled-importer ?

Is this the best way to create a level without tilemaps?
If Godot 3.x TileMaps can't do what you need, you might have better luck with Tiled and the importer.

Godot 3 + Tiled workflow?
However, when trying to import my map (a .tmx file) into Godot with Vnen’s Tiled Map Importer ( https://github.com/vnen/godot-tiled-importer ), the custom properties aren’t available. I checked the “Custom Properties” checkbox within my Import Dialogue, but haven’t figured out how to actually validate anything custom got transferred over into my post import script.

Tiled in Godot weird collision offset
This is a known problem with tiled importer plugin and 3.5. There is a pull request on github that fixes it: https://github.com/vnen/godot-tiled-importer/pull/164

Regarding Tiled tilesets and Godot Resource Management
I am working with Godot to build a bare bones 2d tile-based movement system to learn the engine. To aid in this I am using Tiled and Godot Tiled Importer to provide the map as I disliked using Godot's built in features.

Full Item customization for an RPG / with animations, for our Mobile MMOPRG. Details in comments
Building the new map. We are currently using Tiled and importing using the Tiled plugin that has been heavily modified by one of the team members. If Godot has one downside so far it is the TileMap, we really wish 4.0 was here.

FXREST - Did all the art for this one, just a little weekend (maybe two?) project. Put together a tiny resource, tool, and inventory system. (I also found and fixed a bug in the Godot Tiled importer plugin!)

What's the Godot way to structuring the communication with the GUI?
For some context, I'm an experienced (~10 years) programmer starting to dabble in game development. I'm learning to build various systems to gain experience and understanding, and recently I was interested in developing a dialogue system with an editor similar to what Dialogic provides.

Do you know when you play Undertale and one dialogue have 2 or more options to choose? How do i make that(Godot 3.5)?
Use something like Dialogic or (personal recommendation) Dialog Manager.
- Changing the theme doesn't work in dialogic, what I'm doing wrong? I'm using Dialogic - 1.4.5 in Godot 3

Steel Clad Flesh Devlog #4: Power-ups, cut-scenes, finishing up with level 1, sneak peak at the first boss, and more!
I used a Godot plugin called "Dialogic" to create it, still working on the themes and assets, so most changes made are cosmetic.

How to make a basic branching dialogue system?
There are two great dialogue systems available for Godot, Godot Dialogue Manager, which is geared more towards writing things in a script, and Dialogic with a nice user interface, that is more artist-friendly (though direct script editing is also available). It also has more features (at least in the new version, which is currently under development for the upcoming Godot 4 and might not be suitable for production).

For your second question, try looking at existing add-ons like Dialogic either for a ready to use implementation or as inspiration for how to code your own.
