How would you tackle organizing a system for dialogue in an animal crossing or stardew valley -esque game?
I use the Zdoom Strife Dialog format as a base which is just a couple of structs, bit of state, and some data-query functions to implement the baseline. Changes I've made to the format are small, mostly just making it aware of lua, i18n, anim cues, and so-on.

From what I heard you want to really understand how CGI works, since then it boils down to adding more viewpoints, getting input from the additional hardware you have and rendering onto it. You can compare how gzdoomvr is a modified version of gzdoom for some pointers.

"Relentless Frontier" demo and "Project Absentia" demo's Linux versions added to Luxtorpeda for Steam
u/d10sfan has added GZDoom source port for Relentless Frontier demo and WIGZDoom source port for Project Absentiad demo to Luxtorpeda repo. Thanks to that, native Linux versions of the games can be played as Steam games.
