How do you build games for Steam Linux Runtime?
We don't use the Steam runtime; instead, we use custom build containers which are designed to create binaries compatible with most LTS Linux distributions.

How do you build games for Steam Linux Runtime?
It's likely for convenience/personal preference. Since the Linux build container uses its own Linux SDK (buildroot), there's no dependency on the distribution being used as a baseline for the resulting binary.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing build-containers and buildroot you can also consider the following projects:
godot - Godot fork for upstreaming bug fixes and enhancements on behalf of Goost contributors
Goost - A general-purpose, extensible and customizable C++ extension for Godot Engine.
godot-build-scripts - Build scripts used for official Godot Engine builds with https://github.com/godotengine/build-containers
ppa - A PPA repository for my packages (Godot)
godot-proposals - Godot Improvement Proposals (GIPs)
