Since a lot of people suggested aseprite I'll mention that it is free if you compile it from the source code provided in the official github page. They even have instructions on how to install it there. Though I suggest following a youtube guide.

Just finished making a bite-sized platformer with dashing and slashing using love2d! (playable version linked in comments)
3 projects | reddit.com/r/love2d | 19 Jan 2022
I used aseprite for the pixel art, Tiled for level creation and editing, and love.js to port it to the web. This the second game I've made with Love2D. I originally fell in love with this framework during a game jam and haven't looked back since. This project took about 80 hours of work total, spread out over 2 months or so.

Aseprie is "Soucre-Available" or however you call it. Last time I checked Libresprite it was very outdated and almost dead, but there seem to be much more activity there now. I definitely can recommend them.4 projects | reddit.com/r/SteamDeck | 11 Jan 2022
I have also seen Aseprite being recommended. It looks nice and I'm sure it works well, but it is not open source unfortunately. There is an open source alternative called LibreSprite, which seems to mimic Aseprite quite closely.
What's a good free coding software?

Pixel Art: Aseprite is free if you compile it yourself.

If you can spare $20 USD Aseprite really is the best dedicated pixel art program right now and probably a little more beginner friendly than Graphics Gale. https://www.aseprite.org/
I noticed a lack of water units and decided to make a naval support unit. I would've drawn all 5 tiers but im not entirely sure what they should look like.

Need help with Fuse in dev mode
1 project | reddit.com/r/Mindustry | 9 Jan 2022
I am using the dev mode mod. I have been trying to get the fuses bullets to be longer. Similar to how you can make lancer bullets longer. I can not figure out how to change it. The fuse code is on line 1722 https://github.com/Anuken/Mindustry/blob/master/core/src/mindustry/content/Blocks.java. There is some weird ammo stuff so can't figure it out. There is also a float.

Hello, I‘m going to be without internet for a few days, so I wanted to ask if there are some casual single player/local coop games that are no more than 700-800MB to download and require no internet connection to play. Thank you in advance

All of the icons are stored in the config file here: https://github.com/Anuken/Mindustry/blob/master/core/assets-raw/fontgen/config.json there are also icons for various content (units/blocks/items) which are accessed like this: Items.copper.uiIcon (at least in v7, in v6 it was different)

How to Loop in Logic
1 project | reddit.com/r/Mindustry | 21 Dec 2021
I poked around the code a bit, and it looks like the LAssembler (via OperationStatement in this case or another one of the LStatement classes) registers all variables encountered in the code, which happens after parsing but before the execution loop begins, I think. It doesn't assign any value to it (only handles constants, replacing them with hidden variables instead), and the value field of BVar is just an Object, so it defaults to null I believe. The LExecutor then loads the variables from the LAssembler, and since the value isn't a Number, it sets isobj to true. Later, when an instruction is executed and requires a numeric value (as op does in this case), it calls the num method, which returns zero if the value is an object and null. And then the result of the operation becomes a proper double.
Used to playing on mobile, now on PC how can I queue up build commands without executing them?
1 project | reddit.com/r/Mindustry | 19 Dec 2021
At least the Android version used to be capped to 60 fps in v5: https://github.com/Anuken/Mindustry/issues/1818. I haven't played v6 on mobile, so no idea whether that was changed.
