Yeah that’s the same as the origin/g4tw version. The standalone installer should be able to install it with no issues - just set the directory to match The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder where you extracted the game files. It also comes with the fixes you need for the game such as GRM and Sims2RPC

- Try running the Standalone Installer from my GitHub, you can uncheck all of the additional fixes if you already have them to just purely overwrite the registry entries.

Have you followed osab's guide? There are sections specific to installing on Linux/the deck, along with this page.

Honestly, just go for Sims 2 Starter Pack. Sets everything up for running fine without the EA App.

I would suggest using osab's guide to install the game on the Deck, as this is the proper Ultimate Collection (I assume it was a typo in your title and you're talking about MrDJ's version, which is a disc repack and missing IKEA). Osab has a note about the not installed error there too, I think, which may clarify the issue for you.

This is one way, but it might be a little outdated.

Fedora Workstation comes with GNOME by default. OTOH the Fedora Everything ISO lets you do a customised install. I recently did a minimal KDE install using this guide for my old laptop.

You can do the same with KDE or Xfce (guide for Debian) with minimal effort involved. All of these will idle very low, usually around 400-500mb. Just use what's comfy to you! :)
