Download from the release page and follow the instructions from here. Let me know how it goes. I really need to open an issue on Valve's SteamOS GitHub as there is not a good reason (in my opinion) that these necessary (to compile) packages aren't included in SteamOS by default. They take up a very small amount of space and should be included, as far as I'm concerned.

I was wondering if it’s possible to use rEFInd to easily boot between Decktop mode and Gamepad mode, rather than automatically booting into game mode as default. I don’t want to auto boot any modes, but would rather the option to choose before loading one or the other.

I walk through the required steps here to rebuild the boot entry properly for Windows. People don't seem to fully read available information from the READMEs. This has been frustrating for months now.

Additionally, I found another script by jlobue10 called SteamDeck_rEFInd, which appears to be the foundation for ryanrudolph's rEFInd script. You can find it here.

I used the killer ones too followers this guys on GitHub the new killer drivers don’t seem to have the battery drain issue for me yet that was reported in the old one https://github.com/ryanrudolfoba/SteamDeckWindowsFixForWiFi

try a speedtest.net and check it. some users have good luck with another than official valve wifi drivers.. check https://github.com/ryanrudolfoba/SteamDeckWindowsFixForWiFi

This github page provides steps to install a modded driver that lets you enable features that wouldn't be available on the regular drivers for windows.

It’s most likely the Wi-Fi driver the stock one from valve has issues. this fixed it for me just read the warning because the unlocked drivers do cause battery drain for some
