Genuine question... what do you expect from the native dual boot solution (coming soonTM ) that's not already possible by shrinking the /home partition and installing whatever other OS in that free space? Combine that with rEFInd and you can have a quality dual boot setup already. I've made it extremely easy to install and customize rEFInd as well. Waiting for the native solution coming who knows when just doesn't make sense to me. I don't see it being any better than what's currently possible.

I found it pretty easy to just install the drivers from Valves Windows Resources page, https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6121-ECCD-D643-BAA8 then the only other thing I did was install Steam Deck Tools https://github.com/ayufan/steam-deck-tools and everything works perfect.

The joystick haptic response I believe is your controller firmware being out of date. See https://github.com/ayufan/steam-deck-tools/issues/76

As others have mentioned, you first need to install the Steam Drivers (https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6121-ECCD-D643-BAA8) that Valves offers and then either Steam Deck Tools (https://github.com/ayufan/steam-deck-tools) or the Steam Deck Post-Install Script (https://github.com/ryanrudolfoba/SteamDeckPostInstallScript).

Do you have Steam Deck Tools installed? If not, go here and scroll down until you see the ASSETS section of here: https://github.com/ayufan/steam-deck-tools/releases/tag/0.6.14 Then select the third one down (the one ending in .exe).

Steam Deck Tools has a suite of programs, some I prefer to turn off. It installs custom performance controls, TDP controls, you can enable systemwide Xbox 360 controller emulation. You can also control the fan, and it has a setting that mimics SteamOS. This also is also where the Windows Virtual Keyboard is bound. Takes some tweaking to get it where you like but it feels a lot better.
