So I ordered my Open Xenium for my 1.6b... Anyone got any good diagrams for the proper points for the LPC restoring?
Here you go https://github.com/Ryzee119/OpenXenium/blob/master/INSTALLATION.md Ryzee119's github for the OpenXenium. I've done a manual rebuild and used a board. If picking up a rebuild board, pre-tin all the points on the board before soldering it to the mobo. If not, you'll likely have a bad time.

R.I.P childhood
This is fixable. OpenXenium + IDE to Sata adapter + Hard Drive is all that is needed. Not only will that get it working, but it will also be a massive upgrade to storage size and features available.

Ebay find. Looks like it's time to do some soldering.
Thankfully these boards are open source and readily available! https://github.com/Ryzee119/OpenXenium

I just got a OG Xbox with 07 error
If you have a Raspberry Pi available, you can use this tool to extract the HDD key from the motherboard's EEPROM and build a new HDD from scratch using a tool like XboxHDM
- flash EEPROM with Raspberry PI Pico?
- If I have a modchipped Xbox can I unlock an HDD from a different Xbox?
- Upgrade/Replace HDD without softmod?

Sometimes you have to take a step back and ask yourself how you got here.
Nah, I removed that already, it's a Japanese xbox and I don't have a game I can use to softmod it, so I have to change the region to NTSC-M with a raspberry pi. Thankfully someone wrote a tool and put together a good tutorial: https://github.com/grimdoomer/PiPROM

Hot-Swap broke my hdd? And reading EEPROM my MB?
Then i tried to read my EEPROM with a Raspberry Pi 3 following this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSe89adGfR0 and this guide: https://github.com/grimdoomer/PiPROM

Dead hard drive, modchip necessary?
If you have an Arduino or Pi, you can do that using the following tools: https://github.com/grimdoomer/PiPROM https://github.com/Ryzee119/ArduinoProm

Am I going overboard buying these?
I'm more than happy to help you with whatever you need to get the data off those drives. If you do have a dead board with a working hard drive it would be easier to use an eeprom reader on the board like a PiProm or if you prefer to desolder the eeprom chip, you could read it in a programmer like a CH341A with a SOIC8 150mil EZsocket. The second method is what I usually end up doing because it's just less work for me.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing OpenXenium and PiPROM you can also consider the following projects:
xenium-programmer - OpenXenium CPLD and FLASH programmer
ArduinoProm - Original Xbox EEPROM reader and writer. Based on and inspired by the awesome work by Grimdoomer on PiPROM
spi2par2019 - Open source recreation of the spi2par, a board that allowed you to use HD44780 compliant LCDs on the Xenium modchip for the OG Xbox
xenium-fw-update - Firmware update for XeniumOS used on Xenium and OpenXenium modchips to provide software fixes and various improvements.
