  • PiPROM

Read/Write an original Xbox EEPROM chip with a Raspberry Pi

  • There are a number of ways to use other hardware to read the key directly from the EEPROM chip on the Xbox's motherboard. 10 years ago, I built an I2C-to-serial adapter and read it with a laptop that had a serial port. Now, I think I'd go with PiPROM (partly because I've got like 5 Pi's sitting around the house). The repository for that project has some good information about reading from the LPC even if you don't go the Pi route.
