[GUIDE] Best practices and additions for using your OLED as your daily monitor
-Install Monitor Keeper, because the CX is driven by HDMI, when it goes to sleep Windows treats the sleep as if the monitor was disconnected, that will trigger windows to rearrange all open programs and is increasingly annoying if you do any kind of work on your PC, this little program remembers where those programs were located and snaps back them back into place when the monitor is "reconnected"

LG 27GN950 Deep Sleep Problems
I just found this application https://github.com/manutalcual/winredock which as soon as a monitor disconnects it remembers all window positions, then when the monitor reconnects it restores the windows. It works totally fine for me and actually removes some of the trouble i was having with this.

Remember Window Position
I'm really sorry this doesn't actually answer your question but https://github.com/manutalcual/winredock works for Windows and is a starting point to help you search for linux: https://askubuntu.com/questions/411503/is-there-a-dynamic-multiple-monitor-friendly-desktop-environment-available-for-u https://groups.google.com/g/xdotool-users/c/ns-pHfwQErc/discussion?pli=1 will help but force you to run shell scripts manually. I'm pretty sure you can build something to detect if you're docked or not which can run the shell scripts. https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/9ijm5z/multi_monitors_remember_the_window_position/ works for KDE.
