Mess VS LockView

There's modules that can add animated spell templates, such as MESS: https://github.com/Moerill/Mess. I believe there are others, but I can't think of them right now.

Hello, I have been trying to install the MESS module manually as they don't provide a manifest, but have run into some issues with it. I followed the guide on the "Foundry VTT Community Wiki" and places the "Mess-master" folder into "Data\modules". When I launch foundry I can't see it in the "Manage modules" menu.

Answered: For my usecase, the best option was to make the video the background of a new scene and configure Lock View as /u/CDeenen123 suggested.

If none of this works, I head to the modules github, unless the author has a discord. Then check there.

You could also take a look at Lock View, which can draw a box on the GMs screen that corresponds to what the players can see, and has the option to drag this box around in order to change the view. https://github.com/CDeenen/LockView

Seconding LockView. Once installed, you'll have to enable the module for each player under the module settings (I overlooked that initially and thought the mod wasn't working at first).

You could look at the Lock View module I made that allows the GM to control the view of the players, so your players don't need their own mouse and keyboard to zoom and pan. It also has some options in case you want to use pysical minis (such as autoscaling so you have a 1" grid): https://github.com/CDeenen/LockView

There's Lock View, which I originally made for real life play. It allows you to control what players can see and has multiple other features that might be useful. You specifically might want to take a look at the viewbox option.
