Updating cores
Lakka I believe formats its SD/Main Drive as a Linux filesystem that cannot be accessed easily from a non-Linux device. More info here: https://github.com/libretro/Lakka-LibreELEC/wiki/Accessing-Lakka-filesystem Note: Samba and FTP allow you to wirelessly move files like BIOS files (which go in the storage/system folder as it appears when connected via Samba or FTP, btw) to your Lakka system, and I recommend these methods.

Streaming/Gaming Client OS?
If you're looking for retro, I'd recommend Lakka OS. I've used it in the past, the only real issue was trying to get to the BIOS/formatting the drive (but I was using a Laptop with fastboot enabled).

Imac mid 2011
Plenty of uses! Install a modern MacOS with Open Core Legacy Patcher (https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/MODELS.html). Install Lakka and turn it into a retro gaming device (https://www.lakka.tv). Etc etc. Your model has a Thunderbolt connection so you can get an Thunderbolt enclosure + SSD and install the OS there. It’ll be a lot faster than the internal HDD. Of course you can swap the internal drive but with iMacs it’s always a hassle.
- No wifi or bluetooth on Laptop running lakka. Worked previously on windows 10. Any ideas on how to get drivers?

I wrote an app for myself to filter my library by HLTB
I've done something similar before with Playnite (an open-source PC game library manager), which has an HLTB plugin.

Tags no longer register and i've finally had it with galaxy 2.0. Any recommended alternatives?
Playnite: The one with the most features and libraries available via addons and has a lot of options for customization. In my opinion the best one available for this purpose.

What tools do I install?
As for my LGO, the only other app I've installed outside of the standard launcher was Playnite to consolidate all games into one place as Legion Space doesn't detect everything I have installed and I don't want to manage manually adding games to their launcher.

Steam Deck OLED
Here is where I come in and recommend everyone check out Playnite: https://playnite.link/
When I care about supporting a developer or publisher and they offer their product on their own storefront DRM-free, I will often go there to buy. Or I buy from GoG which takes a smaller cut. Playnite lets me launch my Steam and non-Steam games in a seamless fashion. Steam still does a great job as a game installer/patch manager, and helps me discover new games. But I'm not locked into paying them a 30% fee, which is pretty brutal for some smaller publishers.

PSA: Playnite Launcher has a "HDR Mode" per game!
For anyone with any of the myriad of HDR monitors that prefers to leave desktop mode in SDR RGB, I just discovered that the excellent Playnite game launcher has a feature where you can enable HDR on a per-game basis. Simply tick the "Enable HDR support" option under "Advanced" tab for the settings of the games that you want HDR turned on for. I was previously using the now-abandoned AutoActions for this, so glad to see there's an alternative in a tool I already use.
