Is there any possibilitiy to implement your own electronics in HomeKit?
Sure, you just have to fork the HomeKit Accessory Development Kit code from GitHub
- Should I commit to Z-Wave or HomeKit for my home automation setup?

PCB Review: Wi-Fi Module (Updated!)
Yeah, I basically finished porting the Apple HomeKit ADK to use the SimpleLink SDK and FreeRTOS kernel. Just haven’t gotten around to uploading to GitHub yet. Sure I can help you get started.

HomeKit ADK can connect, pair, but can not get value
Hi there, I build yocto and homekit ADK on my raspberry pi, and code examples to test it. I add a new service and new characteristic for the temperature sensor. When I execute it, I can pair the device and print information(manufacturer, ...) of the device on my iPhone. But iPhone can not get the value of temperature. logging on below. https://github.com/apple/HomeKitADK/issues/111 The same code is successful on Raspbian.

PCB Review: Wi-Fi Module
This is designed to replace a Wi-Fi module in one of my ceiling fans, in order to add support for Apple HomeKit using the open-source ADK which I've already ported to run on the TI LAUNCHCC3235MOD evaluation board (more or less, will post all of this on GitHub soon). The dimensions and component placement are constrained to match the original board. I started out just writing new firmware for the original board, which uses a Kinetis K12 Cortex M4 MCU and GainSpan/Telit GS2200 Wi-Fi module, but I could not get the HomeKit ADK code and stack to fit in the 320KB program flash / 32KB SRAM on the MCU without substantial effort and debugging limitations. The GainSpan module has plenty of flash and SRAM, but unfortunately that company charges $7,000+ for the SDK to reprogram it.

New to Homebridge - Having issues with temperature conversions between Celcius and Farenheit.
Doing a bit of digging, I found the Charaacteristic definition in https://github.com/homebridge/HAP-NodeJS/blob/master/src/lib/definitions/CharacteristicDefinitions.ts. I'm still a bit new to Typescript... what would the best way / place for me to modify this Characteristic? Do I need to just make this change here and basically run a custom version of Homebridge?

Homewizard Watermeter under homebridge-http-advanced-accessory
Well, the API only provides m3 values, and the plugin you suggested is only displaying 2 decimals instead of 3 in homekit (most likely a homekit limitation; since in homebridge 3 [and even 4] decimals are listed, and the accuracy of the sensor seems to be 0.0001 - as listed on https://github.com/homebridge/HAP-NodeJS/blob/master/src/lib/definitions/CharacteristicDefinitions.ts )

Homebridge now supports HKSV
Yeah this appears to be the relevant discussion on it: https://github.com/homebridge/HAP-NodeJS/pull/918 I guess Raspbian does not ship with avahi by default.
