This is the mod I use for higurashi https://github.com/masagrator/HigurashiENX if its not working after you drag the folder with the game id into atmosphere/contents you probabably just need to update the game to 1.0.2

Pretty understandable. I think there's an unofficial translation for the Japanese port, but tbf it seems complicated to get it to work.

you can find the patch here and to get it on the switch you just need to follow a tutorial on how to get atmosphere on your switch, once you get atmosphere on your switch the atmosphere folder you downloaded from the patch page and place it in the root of your sd card. you will also need to own a copy of the game for this. you can also run this through an emulator.

so its only available on switch and ps4 in japan, there is an english patch available here https://github.com/masagrator/HigurashiENX you can grab a copy of the game from the jp eshop or grab a physical copy and then hack your switch and put atmosphere on it then put the patch files in the atmosphere folder on your sd card (this is only if you want to play it on an actual switch) or on the other hand you can back up your copy of the game using the nxdumptool (you'll also need to hack your switch for this) or pirate the nsp online and put it in the ryujinx switch emulator. to apply the patch in ryujinx you'll need to rename the atmosphere folder to mods and place it your ryujinx folder (not the publish folder) im not sure how all of this works on a mac so i apologize if this doesnt help you. the original pc release (or hou on steam) on steam is also a great way to read it. 07th mod is also a thing as well fi you want the updated graphics and voices from the switch/ps4 game (as well as extra arcs and such). have fun! if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I have a 3G device still able to watch YT and a very old Kindle Fire that has NewPipe [1] installed for watching YT in bed (whilst my phone is on charge).
