Newpipe.net removed from Google search results due to DMCA take down request
The Lumen Database page lists only domain names of the URLs in the complaint unless you solve a captcha and enter an email address. The full complaint lists https://newpipe.net/ itself, while the chrome.google.com (and addons.mozilla.org, and store.microsoft.com...) URLs are to browser extension pages, and the Facebook URL is the URL of a post that has a link to a Youtube downloader.
The list generally seems to be a collection of things that range from the websites of Youtube downloaders and interfaces to simply mentions of them, including a Wikipedia page about Youtube downloaders and a Trustpilot page of reviews about a website for one.
Item 9, meanwhile, appears to be a completely unrelated Soundcloud track that isn't even connected to the complaint description, but appears to have the URL of a Youtube downloader in the title.

Ask HN: What is nitter and why does it still work?
https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/
I think it uses the same functionality as the guest account feature in the Android app as of now.
Nitter currently uses so called "guest accounts" and a proxy network. Start here if you want more details:
https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/issues/983#issuecomment-168...
The required proxies are the reason currently only nitter.net is working, but not the other hosted instances.

Ask HN: Tell us about your project that's not done yet but you want feedback on
Unfortunately Nitter broke earlier this week thanks to some changes by Twitter: https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/issues/983
I was using a self-hosted Nitter instance for the RSS feeds as I deactivated my Twitter account

Tell HN: T.co is adding a ~5 second delay to domains they don't like
You can refer to the full list on the github page[0] (which I find to be pretty accurate). I personally use La Contre-Voie[1] for no particular reason.
nitter.net was historically a little less reliable for me due to rate limiting, which is why I initially switched. They worked around the rate limiting issue now, so that may no longer be the case.

Why even let users set their own passwords?
You made it sound like even for a simple site, JavaScript would be a necessity and we should expect websites to not work well without it. I was actually about to concede that it's OK if JS has eaten the world (see my closing thought)...
Then read this comment:
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36849820
> you can still view it through https://nitter.net, which I guess makes the open source Javascript-less front-end to Twitter more accessible for SEO
WHAT? I had no idea. So there is Nitter [1] frontend for Twitter -which is a platform immensely more complicated than HN- and they manage to not only work without JavaScript, but have it as one of their core motivations.
Things get even better, from that project I find about Invidious [2], a frontend for nothing else than YouTube! And again, no JS is not only an option but a highlighted feature.
After these discoveries, my bar for how JS-free we should expect most websites to be has just gone up, not down. Especially those websites consisting on just presenting text and media (i.e. the immense majority!)
I agree the war is lost, though. Luckily there will still exist people fighting for a leaner and faster experience. The problem is bloated frameworks and privacy invasion via JS. Those are essentially my main reasons to want to browse the Web without JS.

Crystal 1.9.1 Is Released
Agreed! There's a couple of fairly large projects in Nim: https://nimbus.team/ (https://github.com/status-im/nimbus-eth2) or https://github.com/zedeus/nitter
Though there's still friction points I've been happy seeing the ecosystem grow lately. The compiler has seen a lot of bug fixes lately too which helps.

FYI: Nitter RSS feeds working again
https://nitter.net works, but AFAIK it doesn't have RSS feeds (if that's what you're asking about). For that you need to choose an instance: https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/wiki/Instances
