How powerful is the networking in gms2?
I know one extension (mostly because I made the typescript for it) which uses node.js (javascript) for the server, you can check it out here

SnowState is free and open-source. There is a simple demo to get you started. You can find it on Github. There is also a really nice documentation to assist you along the way.
