Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Fornjot: A next-generation Code-CAD application
I have been working on a .net wrapper for opencascade (https://github.com/veggielane/EngrCAD) but opencascade interop from .net is a pain. I also fell in and out of love with SDF, as most CAM tools need BREP.
I agree with people in this thread, the world needs more CAD kernels. I also think that we need a language agnostic markup language to represent the BREP.

There is a lot of work going on for adding Python. Guenther pushed a PR with code from PythonSCAD . It is under technical review - design, api and code. https://github.com/openscad/openscad/issues/4880 this is the tracking bug.

PSA: Try manifold and report bugs!
Short edges (e.g. due to very high $fn) can cause bug in the triangulator, there is a fix for this but is not ready for merging. (https://github.com/openscad/openscad/issues/4679)
